About Ed Layton

Edward Layton-
Licensed Acupuncturist

Ed understands the power of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a tool for optimal health, looking at the body as a whole rather than a sum of its parts.  Disorders that may be difficult to treat with conventional medicine may respond well to Traditional Chinese Medicine due to its holistic approach to the body and mind. Ed Layton knows just how hard it can be to get the right care, at the right time, his clinic is unique in many ways.

HamsterPuncture is a community acupuncture clinic, part of a nationwide group of similar clinics. Each one has a sliding scale for affordability, a clinic layout of multiple chairs in one large comfortable room and long hours for ease of getting into the clinic.

This form of health care is not only beneficial for those with typical "illnesses", it is a way of achieving a deep level of wellness. Acupuncture works for the finely tuned bodies of athletes, helping them gain a greater level of performance.  It helps the 'weekend warrior' stay in the game.

Ed Layton serves as the long time acupuncture sponsor of the Western Washington University cycling team, including the  national road and cyclocross champions in 2007.  Some of these riders have gone on to pro level racing.

Ed Layton graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon with a Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM). He is licensed by the state of Washington to practice acupuncture, and is nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).  Ed also holds a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts, Cum Laude, from Hunter College in New York City, NY.
